Freedom Donates Scooter to Tommie

Tommie Moman Receives Free Scooter

Tommie M. was diagnosed 24 years ago with Multiple Sclerosis. He was able to get around with the use of crutches for 14 years. For the last 10 years, he has been confined to a wheelchair. He maintains full use of his upper body and stays as active as possible. He loves to hunt and work in his garden.

He is constantly on the go and his wife even told me he helps out with the household chores. He mops the entire house from his chair. He has a scooter that allows him to be active but it is old and falling apart. In fact, it has broken down so much he has had to take parts from two different ones to make the one he has. The motor skips, and when it does the chair jumps into whatever is around. His legs were scraped up where the chair went out of control and ran him into walls, cars, bushes, etc.

I was so touched to be able to donate this new scooter to him. The look in his face was reward enough. Mr. Moman and his wife were so thankful to me and Freedom Home Care that I was sent home with tomatoes and canned pepper sauce Mrs. Moman had made from the garden.
