Caring Companionship
People were not created to be alone!  We need social and emotional stimulation and interaction in order to thrive.  Simple conversation and reminiscing are tools that our caregivers use to improve the quality of our clients lives.  Furthermore, most seniors are very spiritual, therefore when we help them remain active in their church we are meeting more than just a physical need.  Recreational activities such as playing cards or doing puzzles are highly encouraged.

Incidental Transportation
With a Freedom Home Care caregiver to take them to doctor's appointments, the beauty salons, shopping or just wherever, our clients don't lose their independence or freedom to go when and where they want.

Errands and Shopping are vital to everyday life and that is why they are a major concern to our clients.  Freedom Home Care caregivers can take the client, because some people enjoy just getting out in the community.  Or, if the client prefers, the caregiver can go on errands alone.    

Medication Reminders
Usually the first sign of trouble for families is when medications aren't taken properly (i.e. not taken or overtaken).  Freedom Home Care caregivers gently remind our clients when to take their medication even several times a day, if necessary.  Administering medications must be done by a licensed professional.

Homemaker Tasks
Light Housekeeping includes dusting, cleaning floors, bathrooms, kitchen, bedrooms, taking out the trash, straightening all rooms, organizing closets and drawers, cleaning any interior windows that can be reached without a ladder.

Laundry & Bed Linen Changes includes washing, drying, ironing, folding and storage of clothes and bed linens.  This is done either in the home or at the laundromat by the caregiver or taken to the dry cleaners.

Meal Planning & Preparation challenges many seniors who suffer from poor eyesight, loss of or diminished appetite, and limited mobility which often times leads to inadequate nutrition.   Freedom Home Care caregivers can plan and prepare meals or just prepare at the direction of the client.  Many of our clients can have their favorite meal with just a little help from our caregiver.

Safety Monitoring is essential for extended family members who do not live with the person receiving care.  Freedom Home Care caregivers provide a non-biased objective opinion about the safety and welfare of our clients, which relieves the stress associated with long distance family caregiving.

Personal Care Tasks
Bathing is essential to an individual’s sense of well-being. It refreshes the spirit, provides relaxation while cleansing the skin and stimulating circulation.

Mobility (exercise) is vital to a healthy lifestyle. The benefits of movement to both physical and mental health are seen in everyday life. Benefits include increasing stamina, strengthening the heart, lowering blood pressure, improving digestion and sleep. In addition, it improves mood, releases stress and increases mental alertness.

Transferring & Positioning (moving or placing) a person into a correct posture or position encourages the functional activity of the body.  It assists in eliminating skin breakdown, reducing atrophy and stiffening of muscles, encourages proper breathing, digestion, and elimination.

Elimination Assistance is very private and must be handled professionally to avoid embarrassing individuals.  Additionally, it can become unsanitary if not taken care of correctly. Freedom Home Care caregivers understand both the urgency and sensitivity of this situation and approach it in a caring professional manner.

Grooming & Dressing Assistance represents our clients dignity and sometimes means more than anything else to their sense of well-being and importance.  Our caregivers insure their client's appearance is in concert with personal and family standards.

Home Management includes helping our clients coordinate appointments with doctors and other professionals. 

Private Nursing Services
Some home care situations require higher levels of skilled care, which are medical in nature.  In order to meet the long term care needs of individuals with these needs, Freedom Home Care offers private nursing services.  Private Nursing services include all other services and are designed around a medical model of care.
